Students in MISD’s 18+ Program at Marshall Early Graduation School, as well as the MHS Life Skills Unit, had an opportunity to participate in the Special Olympics Texas (SOTX) bowling competition.
Kennedi Bell and Micah Johnson were gold medal winners.
Jordan Hardeman and Jalen Frye were silver medal winners.
Jesus Valdez and Zamya Jacques placed fourth.
More than 280 athletes represented 13 delegations, including Marshall, in the SOTX bowling competition. This competition was held November 10-11 at the Oil Bowl Lanes in Longview.
Jordan Hardeman was selected to say the Special Olympic Athlete Oath—“Let me win, but if I cannot win, let me be brave in the attempt.”
Athletes will now begin practicing for the SOTX Basketball competition to be held at Stephen F. Austin University in February.
