Marshall ISD Applies for the following funds:

Title I, Part A Program Intent and Purpose: Title I, Part A, provides supplemental

resources to LEAs to help schools with high concentrations of students from low-income

families provide high-quality education that will enable all children to meet the challenging state

academic standards. Title I, Part A, supports campuses in implementing either a schoolwide

program (SWP) or a targeted assistance program (TAP).

Title I, Part D Intent and Purpose: The purpose of Title I, Part D, Subpart 2, is to do the

following:

• To carry out high quality education programs to prepare children and youth for secondary

school completion, training, employment, or further education;

• Provide children and youth with the services needed to make a successful transition from

institutionalization to further education or employment; and

• To operate programs in local schools, including schools operated or funded by the Bureau of

Indian Education for children and youth returning from correctional facilities and programs which

may serve at-risk children and youth.

Title II, Part A Intent and Purpose: The intent and purpose of the Title II, Part A, program

is to provide resources to LEAs to do the following:

1. Increase student achievement consistent with the challenging State academic standards;

2. Improve the quality and effectiveness of teachers, principals, and other school leaders;

3. Increase the number of teachers, principals and other school leaders who are effective in

improving student academic achievement in schools; and

4. Provide low-income and minority students greater access to effective teachers, principals,

and other school leaders.

Title III, Part A Intent and Purpose: Title III, Part A, provides supplemental resources to

LEAs to help ensure that children who are English learners, including immigrant children and

youth, attain English proficiency at high levels in academic subjects and can meet the same

challenging State academic standards that all children are expected to meet.

Title IV, Part A Intent and Purpose: Title IV, Part A, Subpart 1, Student Support and

Academic Enrichment (SSAE) grants are designed to improve the academic achievement of all

students by increasing the capacity of LEAs, schools, and communities to (1) provide all

students with access to a well-rounded education, (2) improve school conditions for student

learning, and (3) improve the use of technology in order to enhance academic outcomes and

digital literacy of students.
