VOTER REGISTRATION

To be eligible to vote in the Marshall ISD bond election, individuals must be a registered voter who resides within the school district boundaries.

The deadline to register is April 6, 2023

RESOURCES

Voters must provide a valid form of identification to vote:

EARLY VOTING: APRIL 24 - MAY 2

Early voting will be conducted at the elections office located at:

415 E. Burleson St., Marshall, TX

April 24-28 from 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM

April 29 from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

May 1-2 from 7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Early voting will be conducted at Marshall High School at the select dates and times listed below:

1900 Maverick Dr., Marshall, TX

April 27-28 from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM

ELECTION DAY: SATURDAY, MAY 6

All Election Day voting will be conducted at Marshall High School located at:

1900 Maverick Dr., Marshall, TX

7:00 AM to 7:00 PM

Any Marshall ISD resident who is registered to vote may cast a ballot in this election. Voters will be asked to vote “for” or “against” the proposition.

Ballot Language

Recent changes to State law now require all school district bond ballots to include the language “THIS IS A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE.”, even when the district is not anticipating an increase in the I&S Tax Rate.  As a result, District voters will see this language on the bond ballots even though the District does not anticipate an increase in the I&S Tax Rate.

THE ISSUANCE OF $41,900,000 OF BONDS BY THE MARSHALL INDEPENDENT SCHOOL DISTRICT FOR IMPROVING MARSHALL HIGH SCHOOL FOR THE PURPOSES OF DESIGNING, CONSTRUCTING, RENOVATING, UPGRADING AND EQUIPPING SCHOOL FACILITIES AND THE ACQUISITION OF SCHOOL BUSES, AND THE LEVYING OF A TAX IN PAYMENT THEREOF. THIS IS A PROPERTY TAX INCREASE.
