This recognition will be for someone who has demonstrated the Maverick Spirit with a "service over self" mentality for our schools.

This month, at last week's September board meeting, MISD recognized the contribution of Ms. Tasha Williams (pictured with MISD Assistant Superintendent for Curriculum and Instruction, Ms. Anika Perkins) of Bethesda Missionary Baptist Church.

Tasha helped organize her church's drive to supply headphones and earbuds for all of our students in grades Pre-K through 5th as part of our "Pack The Bus" school supply drive this summer. She also leads her church's "Thanksgiving Basket Drive" at Bethesda, where she says the goal is to supply 32 families with Thanksgiving baskets this year!

Tasha is also spearheading an effort to provide every child at Marshall Junior High School with a new coat this winter. Tasha, thank you for your heart for our students and for our community!
