This is the image for the news article titled New Parking Lot Approved For Marshall High SchoolMarshall ISD Trustees have approved the renovation and installation of a new parking lot at Marshall High School, voting unanimously to approve the action during a special Board Workshop meeting Tuesday afternoon.

Local contractor Rayford McCracken Truck and Tractor won the bid of $545,000 to completely redo the parking lot at MHS. The project will be completed in time for the scheduled start of the 2020-2021 school year in August.

The new parking lot project is the latest in a long line of renovations, updates and improvements to MHS over the last couple of years. These updates include new science labs, new restrooms, new lighting both inside the school and outside in the parking lot, new security features including a secure entryway and new, secure doors at all entrances, new sound and lighting in the auditorium and new carpeting in the library. Projects still being considered include new ceiling tiles, new flooring and new texturing and painting of the original wall panels in the hallways.

Renovations and additions to the MHS complex also include a new press box and new artificial turf in Maverick Stadium, as well as renovations and upgrades to the field house. Both girls and boys locker rooms in Maverick Gym have also been renovated, and the gym itself is undergoing a facelift with new bleachers being installed before the start of next year. The district also has a current Request for Proposal for the renovation of the restrooms in Maverick Stadium.
