The Marshall ISD Department of Curriculum and Instruction is responsible for day-to-day implementation of the District's aligned Curriculum design, working directly with coordinators in all academic disciplines. We also assist principals on school improvement initiatives, as well as additional instructional-related duties. We also oversee the implementation of curriculum program initiatives in the district, including MISD's STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Math) Academy, AVID (Advancement Via Individual Determination), and Dual Credit programs. We employ curriculum specialists in the core subject areas of Math, ELA, Science and Social Studies to assist our teachers in the day-to-day implementation of our district curriculum.

The Marshall ISD Police Department was officially licensed in November of 2014 and serves as the official security arm of the school district. As of July 2015, the department consists of a police chief, four full-time officers, and a department secretary. The MISD Police Department is committed to the safety and security of all school personnel and students, as well as the protection and security management of all school district property.

The Marshall ISD Facilities Department is committed to providing the students and staff a safe, comfortable learning environment. MISD Facilities is responsible for all electrical, plumbing, HVAC, painting, carpentry, roofing, pest control and grounds needs throughout the district. The department is continually updating training and licensing for technicians in order to better serve the students and staff of MISD.

Marshall ISD provides specially-designed instruction to meet the unique needs of students with disabilities. This includes adapting as necessary to meet the appropriate needs of an eligible student, the content, methodology, or delivery of instruction to address the student's unique needs and to ensure access of the child to the general curriculum. Dr. Jerry Gibson was named the 23rd Superintendent of Schools in the history of Marshall's public school system in June of 2016. He officially began the post on July 1, 2016, joining the Maverick Family after serving three years as Superintendent of Schools in Coldspring-Oakhurst ISD.
