This is the image for the news article titled Mav Football Online Ticket Sales Begin Sept. 22Tickets for the Marshall Mavericks' football season opener on Friday, Sept. 25, vs. New Caney High School in Maverick Stadium will go on sale beginning Tuesday, Sept. 22, at 8:00 a.m. through Marshall ISD's new online ticketing site provided by Hometown Ticketing.

Advance tickets will only be sold online for Maverick games this year. Tickets will go on sale at https://sites.google.com/marshallisd.com/gomarshallmavs/inside-mav-athletics/ticket-information the Tuesday before every game. Online ticket sales will end at 3:00 p.m. on Thursdays. All tickets will be for general admission this year, and all tickets will be $6.

Parents of football players, Mavettes, band and cheer squads will get first choice of tickets and be able to purchase their tickets online the Monday of every game week.

Tickets not sold online, if any, will be made available at the gate on Friday. MISD will not hold back any tickets for sale on Friday night, and all online ticket sales will be first-come, first-serve.

Due to UIL restrictions on seating during the COVID-19 pandemic, Maverick Stadium will only be able to accommodate up to 1,500 fans on the home side. There will be no free passes this year to any game, home or away, including student, employee or UIL coaches/district passes, via guidelines established by the District 9-5A Executive Committee.

Spectators will be required to wear a face covering at all times, unless eating or drinking, and social distancing will be in practice.

Spectators also must be aware that the new lighting system at Maverick Stadium will provide flash lighting during every Maverick touchdown. Anyone who may be sensitive to strobe-type lighting is encouraged to be aware of this new technology.

Friday's game is the first of six scheduled home games for the Mavs this year. The season was pushed back for a month by the UIL due to the COVID-19 pandemic for schools in Classes 5A and 6A in Texas. As a result, Marshall's final regular season game is scheduled for December 4.
