The top two graduates were announced along with the official rankings of the MHS Class of 2019. Hudson, daughter of Joey and Kristin Hudson, is the top-ranked senior of the graduating class, with Alonso, daughter of Jesus and Marlen Alonso, finishing as No. 2 in the class.

Hudson is planning to attend the University of Texas at Austin and looks to major in Communications/Management and minor in Spanish. Alonso will be attending Texas A&M University and majoring in Math.

The two top graduates were honored Thursday at the annual Val/Sal Luncheon at MHS, hosted by MISD and MHS administration and catered by the MHS Culinary Arts class.

Joining Hudson and Alonso as graduates in the top 10 percent of the class are, in alphabetical order: Alexis Brooks Alexander; Joseph Ryan Black; Carson David Carlile; Kashton Shade Etheridge; Ethan Bradley Davison; Angela Katy Garcia; David Gumescindo; Jimmy Monzon Hernandez; Kasey Leigh Howlett; Keara Renee Irving; Deshona Marquise Jernigan; Arianna Isabel Linn; Myka Nicole Mayper; Jaqualia Untinique Morris; Angel Arturo Cabrera Munguia; Evey Marie Ortiz; Jacob Patterson; Savanah Julissa Potter; Kacy Brooke Ridgeway; Odalis Garcia Rivas; Jackeline Denice Rodriguez; Kayla Suzanne Skinner; Charles Benjamin Tackett; Miriam Loredo Torres; Joshua Christopher Wood; and Brianna Paige Younger.

Congratulations to these outstanding students and to all our 2019 graduates! Graduation ceremonies for the MHS Class of 2019 are set for Friday, May 24, at 7:30 p.m. in Maverick Stadium.
