MISD Announces Principal Changes At PTY, MECC

Young Elementary School and Marshall Early Childhood Center will have new campus leadership for the 2019-2020 school year, as Marshall ISD administration has announced changes to the principals at each of those campuses.

Ms. Frances Moore, who served last year as principal at Washington Early Childhood, has been named the new principal at Price T. Young.

Mrs. Lesley Glanton, who has served the last two years as assistant principal at PTY, has been named the new principal at Marshall Early Childhood, formerly known as Washington Early Childhood.

Prior to serving as principal at WECC in 2018-2019, Ms. Moore had previously served in MISD as an assistant principal at Price T. Young Middle School in 2015-2017. She was principal at George Washington Carver Elementary in Greenville ISD for one year in 2017-2018 before returning to Marshall.

Ms. Moore holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education from Grambling State University and also holds a Master of Education in Educational Administration from Texas A&M University-Commerce. She also has a Standard Principal Certification (EC-12), and is also a certified T-PESS, T-TESS and PDAS Appraiser. Ms. Moore also holds an Instructional Leadership Development (ILD) Certification as well as a Standard-Generalist (Grades EC-8) Educator Certification.

Mrs. Glanton is an alumnus of Marshall ISD, having graduated Marshall High School in 1995. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from East Texas Baptist University with a specialization in Reading in 1999. She graduated from Texas A&M-Texarkana in 2013 with a Masters in Educational Leadership.

Mrs. Glanton began her career in MISD as a first-grade teacher at David Crockett Elementary, where she served in the classroom from 1998-2008. She then taught ESL at Crockett from 2008-2011 then serving as Student Services Coordinator at Crockett from 2011-2013. After one year teaching third grade Math and Science in Hallsville ISD in 2014-15, Mrs. Glanton returned to Marshall 2015 as Reading Interventionist at Crockett.

She has served as Assistant Principal in the district the last three years, first at Crockett in 2016-2017 and then the last two years at PTY.

Mrs. Glanton is a TEPSA member and was twice named Teacher of the Year at Crockett, in 2005 and in 2011.

The district’s early childhood center for Pre-Kindergarten and Head Start is undergoing changes this school year, with a move cross-town into the former South Marshall Elementary School building. The school also will be known as Marshall Early Childhood Center and will be moving from a half-day to a full-day preschool facility.
