MISD Summer School "FIESTA" Ends

This is the image for the news article titled MISD Summer School "FIESTA" EndsStudents participating in the 2017 Marshall ISD Summer School program, FIESTA (Focusing on Important Educational Standards To Achieve) wrapped up this year’s summer term with a special day at the South Marshall campus Thursday.

Parents of students in Bilingual/ESL kindergarten and first grade summer school were invited to enjoy lunch and watch their children go through rotations which included Intensive Reading Readiness, Math, Social Skills, Storytelling, and Writing.

These concepts were taught throughout the summer using technology which included Dreambox, Osmo, Bee Bots, iPads, and tablets. Legos were also used to create a picture or object, and students then told a story about the object.

Summer school ended on June 21 for fifth graders, following the STAAR retests for Math and Reading.
