Travis Elementary School students Nevaeh Atwood and E’zeriah McCray were named honorees in the Marshall ISD Police Department’s "Chow Down with the Chief" program for the week of March 8 on Friday.

As this week’s honorees, Nevaeh and E’zeriah chose to enjoy lunch with Marshall ISD Police Chief Joe Arledge and City of Marshall Police Chief Cliff Carruth at CiCi’s Pizza, along with Sonya Burnett-Andrus, WBT Instructional Coach.

Nevaeh and E’zeriah are students in Mrs. Jordan’s fourth-grade class at WBT. Nevaeh is a daughter of Patrichia Haight, and E’zeriah is the daughter of Demetrie McCray.

The Marshall ISD Police Department wishes to thank CiCi’s for their participation in the “Chow Down With The Chief” program. CiCi’s is one of six local restaurants who participate in the program, which Chief Arledge began in 2016.

“Chow Down with the Chief” helps to facilitate and develop positive relationships between law enforcement and community, and students. Each week, Chief Arledge and Chief Carruth visit an MISD campus and escorts lucky students chosen by their principals for good citizenship, behavior and grades, and treats them to lunch at a participating Marshall restaurant.
