MHS Golf Finishes 4th At Bobcat Spring Classic

This is the image for the news article titled MHS Golf Finishes 4th At Bobcat Spring ClassicThe Marshall High School Golf team placed fourth out of 15 teams competing in Monday’s Hallsville Bobcat Spring Classic held at Pinecrest Country Club in Longview.

The Mavericks, coached by Casey Broadus, finished with a team score of 343, which was just two strokes behind third-place New Diana (341). Tyler Lee was second, with 324, with host Hallsville (A) winning the tournament with a score of 322.

Marshall’s Ben Tackett finished in a tie for eighth in individual scoring, with a 79. Colby Chambers shot an 83, followed by Cole Carlile with an 86 and Josh Wood with a 95 to round out the top four for the Mavs.

Marshall was followed in the standings by Hallsville (B), Trinity, Longview, Lufkin, Douglass (A), Hallsville (C), Central, John Tyler, Sabine, Jefferson and Douglass (B).

Marshall’s next tournament action is scheduled for March 8-9, when the Mavs will compete in the two-day East Texas Twisted 54 event at Wood Hollow Golf Club in Longview.
