MHS JROTC Archery Wins Tournament, Qualifies For State

This is the image for the news article titled MHS JROTC Archery Wins Tournament, Qualifies For StateThe Marshall High School Junior ROTC Archery team brought home a first place finish at last weekend’s Benton Bulls-Eye Tournament in Benton, La.

Cadet Kenny Jones was recognized as Top High School Archer at the competition. In addition, cadets Sam Fontenot, Esteban Flores-Guillen, Lane Cumberland, John Beloney and Jonathan Acuna finished in the top three in their respective grades.

Earlier this year, Marshall placed 13th out of 71 schools at the state qualifying tournament and will now advance to the state tournament to be held at the Bell County Expo Center in Belton on March 28-29. In addition to earning a spot in the competition, the Marshall team has been given the honor of presenting the colors for the opening ceremonies on March 29.
