gibsonAs Superintendent of Marshall ISD let me be the first to welcome you to our district website. Our goal as a district in 2018-2019 is our motto, which is "Raise The Standard." The goal with Raise The Standard is to take our students to a level where success and achievement is an afterthought in Marshall ISD, because our kids and our staff expect higher things of themselves than the state's minimum level of success. We are closer now than we have been in the last few years of reaching this goal, and we have seen tremendous strides with our test scores having improved 94 points in the last two years. But we are not satisfied. We are raising the standard here for what defines success for all students, and we believe that if you raise the bar the kids will reach for it and ultimately sail past it to high achievement. Our students come to school every day willing to learn, and it is our job to give them every opportunity to be successful. We invite you to join us as we strive to make Marshall ISD the best possible school district that we can be.

Jerry Gibson, Ed.D.
Superintendent of Schools
Marshall Independent School District

hc courthouseMarshall ISD is located in Marshall, in Harrison County, in upper east Texas. Marshall is 40 minutes from Shreveport, La., to the east and just over two hours from the Dallas/Fort Worth metroplex to the west. Marshall is located at the intersection of three major highways -- Interstate 20 and State Highways 59 and 43. Historic Caddo Lake is located less than 20 minutes to the northeast of downtown Marshall, and the city is also just a short drive from Lake o' the Pines to the northwest.

MISD proudly serves approximately 5,500 students. The district was founded in 1898 with the creation of Marshall High School.  The opening of our Legacy 2017 schools in the fall of 2017 consolidated the district to seven schools.
